Source code released
Recently someone contacted me asking about editing the Godot .pck files for this old project, so I decided that it would be easier for everyone if I just posted the source code here.
There's a couple of things I feel like are worth mentioning with this though:
First off, the only real reason that I haven't been posting my code alongside projects is that I'm not exactly proud of it; when I'm working on these for YouTube videos, my focus is usually just making the thing quickly, and not really worrying too much about how it might run, if I'm following good practices, or if it could scale to a bigger game; so please don't pick through this like you're doing a code review or anything! For that reason I also don't really consider this a great learning resource, but maybe you'll get something out of it.
I'm fine with you making other things out of this, but if you want to sell it then talk with me about it first (I'm not looking for a cut of your project or anything if it's some huge expansion of anything I put online, I just don't want to inadvertently be part of some scam or whatever). To be clear this means using any part of this in a commercial project, even if it's just a single model or sprite.
I'll probably gradually start doing this with all my other projects. I like looking at open-source game code a lot and think it's fun when cool stuff is done with it. I know that most of my stuff isn't anything huge, but I guess that one person has shown me there's some level of interest in it being out there at least.
